1983
Andre Douek purchases the popular Finch DIY in Finchley, paving the way for almost 40 years of outstanding service to the local community. Friendly staff James and Lorraine are still there today!
1984
Future owner of Timber Windows (UK), Duncan Wright studies timber technology, builders’ merchanting and further business studies and was part of the 1984 alumni with future Doors & Doors MD Paul Stenning.
1990
Duncan joins George Barnsdale & Sons Limited as General Manager, becoming MD in 1994, putting the focus on developing the wooden window, glazing processes, and testing to significantly improve product performance.
2002
Duncan sets up Timber Windows (UK) to focus on the domestic timber window replacement market, using George Barnsdale products.
The first project for Timber Windows (UK) was for Mr and Mrs Redding in Bourne.
Thanks to using high-quality craftsmen for installation, Timber Windows (UK) can offer the whole supply and installation package to homeowners.
2006
With the brand now firmly established in Finchley and the surrounding areas in London, Finch DIY Stores is rebranded as Doors & Doors, with timber doors becoming the main focus of the business.
2018
Doors & Doors launches a brand-new commercial website with shopping platform with its range of over 1000 internal, external, fire doors and accessories to make the buying experience easy for consumers.
2019
Duncan acquires Doors & Doors to give Timber Windows (UK) a London base and showroom to which he could add the George Barnsdale range of timber windows and door sets. A showroom revamp begins.
2021
Paul Stenning joins as MD of Doors & Doors to drive the business forward in selling and fitting doors, before the two companies slowly come together.
